Radboud University Nijmegen*
Radboud University Nijmegen was established in 1923 and was named after Radboud, the bishop of the diocese of Utrecht- who devoted the majority of his life to his studies and to science. The University is situated in the city of Nijmegen, which is the oldest city in the Netherlands, dating back to Roman times. Today, it has some 165,000 inhabitants, 30,000 of whom are students.
Radboud University offers English-taught programmes in the fields of Art, Culture and History, Behavioural and Social Sciences, Business and Economics, Language and Communication, and Science. Radboud is the fastest rising Dutch university in the international university rankings, ensuring high-quality research-based programmes to its students. “Keuzegids Universiteiten”, the Dutch university information guide, lists Radboud University as the best traditional university of 2016 (out of all Dutch traditional general universities); the “Elsevier Survey Beste Studies” (best educational programmes) of 2016 also named Radboud University as the best general university in Holland.

A few of Radboud University’s numerous research achievements include the 2010 Nobel Prize in Physics, awarded to a professor and PhD student connected to Radboud University, as well as the Spinoza Prize, won by 13 different researchers from the institution between the years of 1998 and 2016.
Through its style of teaching and leading researchers as professors, Radboud University challenges its students in order to help them become critical and committed academics that extend the scope of academic disciplines with their own independent views and positions on the state of the contemporary world.

Nijmegen is a student-city with various attractions, as well as a safe, friendly and affordable lifestyle. The city offers students with numerous relaxation and entertainment venues, including museums, galleries, theatres, cinemas, restaurants and cafes. Events such as the International Four Day Marches with the International Summer Festival, the Limburg Medieval Festival, the Samba and Salsa Festival, and the Rockin' Park Festival also take place in this fun-loving historical city.
